Black x Black

Hey Guys xo

I decided to wear all black everything today. A classic of course. The weather was nice and sunny (very rare in England haha) so i thought it would be perfect to wear my crop top and kimono that i recently bought. Even though black absorbs the heat lol, i still felt cool as the kimono is a chiffon material. Me and my girl did this shoot whilst we was at the park, we had so much fun! If you didn't see my post about my recent purchases which included some of the clothing items i'm wearing today, then take a look. I love how the kimono is all lace at the back; and the crop top has lace sections on it and lace sleeves.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Mask Review

Hey Lovelies x

I have been meaning to do a review for this product for some time now, especially as i tried it ages ago and just wanted to share my experience with it. The 'Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Mask' is a deep conditioner and I have heard a lot of great things about this product all over YouTube, Blogs and just around the hair and beauty community. So yes i gave into temptation and wanted to try it for myself to see what everyone was raving about. Many people were saying how amazing it was, how soft it made their hair and even though it's expensive it's worth the money. This product costs £40... yes, for a conditioner! You might be thinking 'Genie, you spent that amount of money on a conditioner!?' Haha, but no i didn't. Thankfully at the time, i was working in TK Maxx and i got the 500ml for £20, not to mention i had my employee discount so i got even more money off of it; so i probably paid around £18. I got so excited when i saw the product and the price, as i never saw it in any stores in the UK at the time (not that i was really looking lol). But I've seen it in quite a few places now; in Paks it costs around £25 for the 250ml and £40 for the 500ml.

*Description At The Back*
'Our Macadamia and Argan oils combine with tea tree an chamomile oils, aloe and algae extracts to produce miracle like hair rejuvenation.
How to use: Liberally comb through clean, wet hair and allow 7 minutes of penetration before rinsing. No heat necessary. Deep Repair Mask in an intense treatment. Use no more than twice a week.'

I'll start off by saying this conditioner smells gorgeous, i love hair products that smell good. The texture is really thick and creamy, so a little bit goes along way; which is good as it will last you a long time. But unfortunately this product did not work for me at all! Believe me when i say i wanted it to, especially for the amount of money i paid, £20 for a conditioner is still a lot to me. Maybe i wasn't using it right i thought. With all my deep conditioners i mix it with oils, apply it to my wet hair and sit under a plastic cap for about an hour. Normally i can feel how soft and moisturised my hair is when i wash the conditioner out, however with this my hair felt really dry. When blow drying, my hair became even more dry and straw like, baring in mind i do add moisturisers and oils when blow drying. It did nothing for me, more like it made my hair worse as it was so dehydrated and lacking nourishment which is the complete opposite of what a deep conditioner is suppose to do. I thought maybe next time i should leave it in a for a less amount of time as the instructions said '7 minutes' on the tub, because some conditioners you need to leave it in for a certain amount of time for it to work. But nope this did nothing, and i got the same results. It was no use to me, so i gave it to my Mum to try and it never worked for her either. I was determined to use this because i wanted to get my moneys worth lool. So i even recently tried it again, but instead of a deep conditioning treatment, i used it as part of my pree poo; so with added oils i applied it to my hair, left it in for about an hour, then washed it out and proceeded to shampoo and deep condition; and again this did nothing. So i came to terms that my hair just doesn't like it. Maybe it's because of a certain ingredient? I really don't know, but everyone's hair is different and is going to have a different experience and this is just my honest opinion. Something that works for someone else may not necessarily work for you too.

This is how much i have left and I'm sad to say it will just sit there lol. If you have tired this product, share your opinion too in the comments below, it would be nice to hear other peoples experiences. What are your thoughts? Any tips?

Bloggers Love Event Top 10 Brands To Watch 2014

Hey Dolls xo

I was invited to the Bloggers Love 1 year anniversary party on June 4th held at Embargo 59 in Chelsea. To celebrate they were showcasing a selection of the Top 10 UK brands to watch for 2014. The dress code was formal/stylish and the event featured a fashion show, gifting lounge, goodie bags & treats for the bloggers and a bloggers VIP area. I attended with Seraya from RayaLouiseBeautyx, and we met other nice bloggers and had a little chat with the brands/boutiques; overall we definitely enjoyed the evening. There was a showroom at the back that featured all the brands and their clothing, so we were able to have a little preview before the fashion show.

BRANDS:

Candy Clothing

Goodie Bags!

Dark Waters Boutique
Quotes & Stationary Dottie Rocks

Tongues Will Wag

Creations by Maggie

The highlight of the evening was the fashion show, which showcased the brands collections. These were just a few outfits. As the venue was dark the images are not 100% clear. Runway images taken by RayaLouiseBeautyx.

A specific garment that caught my attention was this lime green jumpsuit by Dark Waters Boutique. I noticed it in the show room on the rails, as it stood out to me. This figure hugging jumpsuit with mesh panels looked amazing on the runway. Definitely my favourite outfit and collection of the evening.
