Alexander Wang x H&M Collaboration Press & Launch!

Hey Guys,

The long awaited collaboration has arrived! New York based fashion designer Alexander Wang has teamed up with H&M for their annual designer collaboration. This would be the first time an American designer has collaborated with H&M and it launched on the 6th November 2014. Wang's fusion with sportswear featured both Womens, Mens and Accessories in black, white and shades of grey. The collection showed original designs with his signature style/features like the sheer/mesh striped detailing from his SS 2013 Collection. An exclusive shopping event (invitation only) the night before the launch took place at the Regent Street Flagship store, for Press, VIP''s and special guests with complimentary champagne, canapes and gifts. As part of the H&M team, i was working and helping set up the collection and serving the press. Only a selected few from different H&M branches were chosen to help out at the event and launch. The team got special shirts to wear on the press night so we all looked professional and we all got our hair and make up done by make up artists. I worked on both the press night and the launch and it was crazy as people were literally running around the store and the merchandise was sold out in seconds.

A little grey bag was also given to customers who made purchases, this contained a Jersey top that said 'Team Wang' and 'Team H&M', which was really nice. I bought an Alexander Wang key ring for £6.99 which was a reasonable price and the packing looks really sleek and professional too. I wanted one of the crop tops and the little boxing gloves key ring which was so cute but it was sold out; as i was working both nights i didn't really get any time to buy anything, and when the chance came for me to be able to, the things that i wanted were sold out or not in my size. A good thing though was that i also could get my staff discount off of the collection. We had to get more stock shipped in from Ireland as the collection was practically all sold out on the launch day. I really like some of the pieces in the collection and the fact that its sportswear themed.

I didn't get to take much pictures as i was on my shift haha, but as you can see all of the team was setting up the store before the doors opened ready for the press. I took a few pictures of the layout and some of the pieces in the collection also.

Overall i really enjoyed helping out with the collection and i cant wait for the next collaboration. Hope You Enjoyed This Post!
